STORY

After making their first appearance in The Shapeshifting Detective (2018), Poe and Munro are returning in their own standalone spin-off prequel, with different gameplay and all new stories.

Weird things happen in the small town of August… Talking paintings create wishes. Jilted lovers return from the dead looking for everlasting closure. People turn into trees. But with local radio hosts John ‘Poe’ Pope and Ellis Munro investigating, things are only going to get weirder…

Choose where they go and what they do, as you help them uncover August’s strange residents and hidden secrets. Your choices determine what happens to them and those around them, but can you keep Poe and Munro together… and alive?

EPISODE SYNOPSES

Episode One, “Frankie”
Poe and Munro invite listeners to share their dreams and nightmares, but one caller’s fantasies get a little too real.
Guest starring Justin McElroy (The Adventure Zone) as the voice of Frankie.

Episode Two, “In Bed with Poe and Munro”
When Poe and Munro stage a 24-hour radiothon to raise funds for the studio, a vengeful ghost quickly turns it into a killer broadcast.

Episode Three, “Green with Envy”
Poe and Munro hit the streets to find a missing student but with time running out and too many leads, life or death choices must be made.
Featuring Aislinn De’Ath (The Shapeshifting Detective) as Violet.

Episode Four, “Everybody Changes
Things get meta when a past lives regression therapist is invited to hypnotise Munro live on air, and a familiar face turns up on Doctor Dekker’s couch.

Episode Five, “Many Happy Returns”
The couple’s plans to celebrate Munro’s birthday are ruined when a stranger calls into the Confession Booth warning of mortal danger.

Episode Six, “It Started with a Wish”
When Poe and Munro launch a treasure hunt live on air, August residents start disappearing and things get heated when they try a capsule themselves. Will this be the end for Poe and Munro?

About the studio

Husband-and-wife team D’Avekki Studios is based just outside Wisbech in North Cambridgeshire, UK. Its debut game, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker (2017), earned a Guinness World Record for Most Full Motion Video in a Videogame, while The Shapeshifting Detective (2018) received a TIGA nomination for Best Game by a Small Studio. Dark Nights with Poe and Munro was selected as a finalist for the Develop: Brighton Indie Showcase in October 2021.
